Finance Manager | Manchester | £70k+15% bonus | Manufacturing | HybridI am delighted to be bringing a new role to market for an Axon Moore client seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join their team.We’re seeking a driven finance leader to take ownership of our Financial Accounts function and help shape the future of finance across this area of the business.You’ll lead and develop a high-performing team, driving continuous improvement and contributing to wider finance transformation. The role is central to statutory and compliance activity, alongside oversight of HQ accounts across multiple business units. You’ll play a key role in Head Office budgeting, forecasting, and KPI reporting, while controlling central costs and delivering insightful group cost analysis.This is a high-impact role offering real influence, variety, and the opportunity to make a tangible difference.The role
  • Lead and develop a high-performing financial accounting team, embedding a culture of continuous improvement and supporting wider finance transformation initiatives
  • Oversee quarterly indirect tax preparation and submission, driving process improvements and efficiency gains
  • Lead key elements of head office budgeting, forecasting, and monthly performance reporting
  • Review finance processes and controls to identify risk and ensure compliance with internal governance and external audit requirements
  • Manage head office financial reporting and oversee accounting activity across multiple business units
  • Control central costs and recharge mechanisms, providing clear and insightful group-level cost analysis
  • Manage and coordinate statutory, regulatory, and accounting processes, including areas such as customs, capital expenditure, and leases
  • Coordinate senior statutory compliance responsibilities across the organisation
Candidate profile
  • Professionally qualified accountant, with a degree or equivalent qualification
  • Strong people leadership skills with the ability to engage, motivate, and develop teams
  • Proven experience leading and influencing within a financial accounting environment
  • Advanced spreadsheet skills and experience working with large ERP or finance systems
  • Strong balance sheet control experience, including reconciliations, indirect taxes, capital expenditure, and control accounts
  • Solid technical knowledge of taxation, statutory reporting, and regulatory compliance
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality financial analysis and advice in a deadline-driven environment
