Elevation Recruitment Group is proud to have partnered with a growing SME manufacturing business in the Leeds are who are seeking a dedicated and experienced Interim Purchasing Manager to lead all purchasing activities for a period of 9 months+.
As the Purchasing Manager, you will play a pivotal role in managing the procurement activities of the site, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials and services essential for the manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Formulate, agree and review purchasing strategies
- Manage the performance of the purchasing function
- Develop and manage new and existing supplier relationships. NPD is a focus area so during the 9+ months there will be requirement to perform the full tendering process for new materials and component parts
- Establish Service Level Agreements
- Monitor daily supplier performance resolving any problems that arise
- Build strong and productive relationships with all relevant teams within the wider business
- Manage, lead and develop the small team of two, covering responsibilities when absent
- Contribute to the origination and management of Bills of Materials
- Review, refine and establish good practice purchasing systems, processes and behaviours to align with purchasing plan and overall business strategy
Skills & Experience: For the role of Interim Purchasing Manager, we are searching for a candidate who is highly organised and results orientated, who will consistently achieve and exceed against the purchasing strategy, as well as have previous experience in:
- Leading a purchasing function (desirably within a manufacturing environment)
- Proven track record of effectively managing KPI's, establishing and embedding good purchasing practices, and driving supply chain value
- Excellent management and people skills
- Proficient operator of MRP systems
- Ideally CIPS qualification or qualified by proven experience
