Meldreth, UK

JOB TYPE: Permanent

SALARY: £8.41 - £9.39/hour

We are currently looking for a number of Support Workers in our children's home and school which provides education, care and therapeutic support for children and young people age 9-19 years with severe and profound communication difficulties associated with conditions such as cerebral palsy, autism, brain injury and degenerative disorders.

The Role:

The support we provide enables each child and young person to engage and progress at their own level within a living and learning environment that is all about enriching individual lives and helping everyone to achieve their full potential as they reach adulthood.

To facilitate this; you will be expected to provide the highest level of care for our children throughout their day activities; from washing, dressing and breakfast in the morning through to a wide range of educational, social and recreational activities.

Our children benefit greatly from our amazing education, hydrotherapy and rebound therapy facilities and you'll be expected to work closely with our fantastic teachers and therapy teams to help our children achieve their learning and development objectives and become more independent.

The key to this role will be your ability to communicate effectively, build trusting relationships and provide the support required to enable our children and young adults to become more autonomous adults in the community.

It is a tough yet totally rewarding role. Ultimately we are looking for people with a passion to build relationships and positively change the lives of the children and young adults that we work with. So whilst previous experience would be highly beneficial; it's not essential. What's more important to us is that you can demonstrate the right attitude to make a difference.

If you do not already have a Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care, but believe this role is right for you, then we will provide the support (and cover the costs) for you to achieve this; and will continue to support your development throughout your career with us with pay rises to match your progression.

Successful candidates are likely to demonstrate:

* Willingness to work towards achieving Level 3 Diploma HSC (funded by us).

* A robust, positive and creative approach in meeting the needs of children and young adults.

* Good interpersonal, communication and team working skills.

* High level of resilience and patience
