Lecturer in Horticulture, Land and Plant Sciences
Location: Rotherham
Salary:Dependent on Experience
Contract: Until 20th June 2026
Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week
About the Role
Our client, a respected education provider with a strong reputation in land-based training, is seeking an enthusiastic Lecturer in Horticulture, Land and Plant Sciences. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with industry experience who enjoys inspiring learners and shaping future careers. You will deliver high-quality teaching across a range of programmes, ensuring students gain the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to succeed.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver engaging theory and practical sessions
* Plan and deliver lessons aligned to the awarding body requirements
* Assess work and provide supportive, constructive feedback
* Support learner progress, welfare and employability
* Maintain accurate attendance, assessment and learner records
* Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement
* Uphold safeguarding, equality and health & safety standards
* Take part in open days, enrichment and industry engagement activities
Requirements
* Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant land-based subject
* Teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards)
* Industry experience within horticulture or land-based sectors
* Ability to deliver both practical and classroom-based teaching
* Strong communication and organisational skills
* Commitment to inclusive learning and safeguarding
* A current and valid ENHANCED DBS is required.
