Southend Care Ltd (SCL) is a dynamic and forward-thinking Local Authority Trading Company wholly owned by Southend Borough Council (SBC). It has an £8 million annual turnover, employs 350 staff and supports over 1000 customers per year. Trading since April 2017 its performance has exceeded expectations and is opening a new £13m care facility in the Autumn. They are poised to enter a period of significant development and need a forward thinking Head of Finance to support them to achieve their goals.
Your new role
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this is a newly created Head of Finance position. You will be ensuring the Company's financial position is closely monitored and reported, and develop and implement the ambitious Business Plan. You will lead on the financial plans for future service delivery and lead on the financial modelling of further business opportunities and re-shaping of existing service provision where required. You will also lead on the production of the Annual Statement of Accounts.
You will manage a Financial Analyst and work with the remaining back office finance function provided by the council to ensure financial processes are adhered to and are robust.
What you'll need to succeed
This is an exciting opportunity to join a young organisation which has got big plans, so we are looking for a qualified accountant, with a strong commercial background, around financial modelling of new business contracts, ideally within Social Care or from a service delivery background. Experience working with large Public Sector customers would be an advantage.
You must have great communication skills, and have proven ability of financial report writing, and financial modelling.

What you'll get in return
The salary is between £55,000 - £60,000 dependant on experience, you can work in a hybrid working style, from a newly built Head office and from home, dependant on business needs. There is a generous holiday package and standard pension.
