Technical Supervisor

Location: Manchester, UK
Salary: Up to £47,500 per annum

We are hiring a skilled and motivated Technical Supervisor to lead maintenance operations across a key Facilities Management contract in Manchester. In this role, you'll oversee a team of engineers, ensure compliance with statutory and client requirements, and maintain the integrity of all building services.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone from an electrical, mechanical, or multi-skilled background looking to step into a leadership role within a growing and professional FM environment.

Key Responsibilities:

* Supervise and coordinate planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive tasks

* Manage a team of engineers and subcontractors to deliver a high standard of service

* Ensure compliance with health & safety legislation, method statements, and risk assessments

* Liaise with clients, site managers, and helpdesk to resolve issues promptly and professionally

* Oversee statutory compliance checks, audits, and technical inspections

* Maintain accurate records via CMMS, ensuring job completion and reporting is up to date

* Support junior engineers with training and technical guidance

* Provide input on small works, remedial projects, and budget control where required

Requirements:

* Recognised trade qualification (e.g., City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in Electrical, Mechanical or HVAC)

* 18th Edition (for electrical candidates) or equivalent mechanical qualifications

* Proven experience in a technical supervisory or senior engineer role within Facilities Management

* Strong understanding of building services, including electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems

* Good knowledge of statutory compliance and industry standards

* Experience using CMMS systems and managing maintenance workflows

* Excellent communication, leadership, and client-facing skills

Desirable:

* IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent H&S training

* Authorised Person (AP) status in relevant systems (e.g., LV, HVAC, water hygiene)

* Experience in critical environments such as healthcare, data centres, or commercial properties

* First Aid at Work and/or Permit to Work experience
