Perm Full time or 4 days a week
£45,000 - £60,000 DOE + Benefits The Client
My client
provides Building Control services to both the residential and commercial builds. Our main client base is made up by working directly with architects, agents, builders, developers and householders.
Job Purpose
* To provide building control plan checking on a variety of developments to check for compliance with Building Regulations and associated legislation.
Overview of Responsibilities
Duties of the post include, but are not limited to:
* Plan checking to ensure compliance with Building Regulations and associated statutory legislation.
* Site visits
* Consultation with Fire Authorities as necessary
* Effectively self-manage, by forward-planning own workload, to provide a responsive, helpful and professional service.
* Recording inspection details on the data base and communicating comments to customers.
* Maintain a portfolio of projects and associated client base
* Attend design team meetings as reasonably required
* Ensure records and filing are maintained to ensure the company's Quality Procedures, service levels and contractual requirements are being met.
* Maintain a positive team environment to promote the overall interests of the company within all areas of the organisation regardless of location.
Experience / Skills
* Full member of professional organisations: MRICS / MCABE or similar in the appropriate discipline of Building Control or are near your Chartership however candidates who have the relevant experience will also be considered.
* BSR Registered to Class 2 and above
* 5 years relevant BC experience, plan check and site inspections and relevant warranty, quality or defect resolution experience.
* Appropriate knowledge and understanding of the Building Regulations, associated legislation and construction standards.
