On Call is currently seeking a qualified and capable IT Field Tech capable of computer repair, server management and repair, network maintenance and repair, firewall management, and other relevant capabilities required to manage IT in networks of 50 computers and less.
We are specifically looking for an individual who is a capable technician but would like to advance their career by moving towards the more financially lucrative sales side of the industry by learning the best managed IT Sales system available and getting hands on guidance and experience learning to sell with award winning IT Sales pros. Our goal is for this position to apprentice and learn our sales process and work with our sales team while also serving in a remote support and field support capacity. There is an existing opportunity to take over sales and leadership within the Hampton Roads area within the next 12 months (client focus is currently in the Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Chesapeake areas).
An individual in this role will possess excellent people and communication skills with a strong willingness to learn and equal desire to succeed in their career. They will have excellent time management and organizational skills as well as a passion for technology products and services, and the growth and development of small businesses, non-profits, and associations. They will be experts in critical thinking, tough negotiating and prospecting conversation, as well as entrepreneurial minded, competitive and always ready for the next challenge.

This position consists of working on-site, and in our local office with our small business clients to fix computers, servers, and networking issues of all kinds both on premise and remotely.
Qualified applicant should have at least three years of on the job experience in PC repair; have 2 years experience working with Windows Server, virus removal, small network implementation, routers and switches, DHCP, and DNS. Current A+ and/or N+ certifications are required. CCNA or other industry certifications are a plus. Previous experience with remote access and troubleshooting is also a plus.
The most important skill in this position is a great ability to troubleshoot problems. Every day is very different and technicians that do best with us have strong troubleshooting skills and an ability to learn and adapt quickly.
This position will work directly with end users. Patience, reliability, strong work ethic, a client centric attitude, and good interpersonal skills are a must along with excellent oral and written communication skills. A qualified candidate must also demonstrate an ability to be detail oriented and be able to balance many different tasks at once. Must be willing to use personal vehicle for transportation to and from on-site service calls and to carry equipment to and from job sites. Trip compensation is available in addition to base salary.
