About the Role I am recruiting for a friendly, proactive, and highly organised Office Administrator - Receptionist to join my clients' school team. This is a key front-line role, providing exceptional administrative support and a warm welcome to all visitors, families, and staff.
You’ll be the first point of contact at the school, ensuring the smooth running of the reception area and supporting the wider office team with a variety of administrative tasks.
Key Responsibilities - Provide efficient administrative support to the School Business Manager and office team
- Maintain accurate school records and distribute key information
- Support teachers and leadership with admin tasks, including school trips and events
- Manage the school reception, especially during busy periods
- Greet visitors and respond to enquiries in a professional and welcoming manner
- Handle phone calls, emails, and in-person queries with efficiency and care
- Use school IT systems to manage communications and data
- Assist pupils and staff throughout the school day
- Carry out other administrative duties as required by the Senior Leadership Team
What They're Looking For Essential:
- GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent)
- Previous experience in an office environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong administrative and ICT skills (MS Office proficiency)
- Organised, adaptable, and able to work independently
- Understanding of safeguarding and equal opportunities policies
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and welcoming school environment
Desirable:
- Experience in a school office or reception role
- Familiarity with school systems such as Arbor
- Experience using social media in a professional setting
