PMO Manager - Stockton On Tees - Up To £60K

JOB TYPE: Permanent, Temporary

SALARY: £50000 - £60000/annum

Harvey Nash are working with a national company who are looking for a PMO Manager on a fixed term basis.

The successful candidate will take the lead on creating the PMO function and leading the governance, project management and project planning now required by this client.

You will be responsible for:

* Head the PMO within a matrix organisation

* Line management of the PMO

* Development of the PMO as process and procedure owner

* Head our risk management function

* Responsible for improving Vianet's project delivery, processes, systems and guidance.

* Ensure the successful implementation of the PMO's strategy, responsibilities, services and deliverables

* Ensure cross-programme dependencies are managed

* Coordinate best practice and ensure lessons learned are logged

* Define and embed project control and governance

* Provide support to project planning, milestone management, scope management, resource forecasting, financial management, change management across the PMO

* Prepare regular status reporting to all levels of the business

* Ensure efficient change control methods and process are utilized

Key skills and knowledge required:

* Experience of managing a PMO office or a large project encompassing PMO function

* Leadership / Management experience from a senior project management role

* Personable, pro-active, professional and able to demonstrate full commitment to exceptional customer care and service in all activities

* Exemplary communication skills

* Able to advise the Executive level of the business and help to provide PMO direction strategically

* Strong and demonstrated ability to build lasting relationships with key stakeholders

* Strong skills in creating and maintaining project plans, including risks, actions, issues, dependencies

* Proven experience of successful schedule and risk management

* Knowledge of benefits and dependency mapping, risk management and resource planning

* Diplomatic ability to influence others at all levels of the business

* Training and coaching of PMO personnel

* Knowledgeable and experienced in efficient Change Management methods

* Experience of recognised methodologies e.g. Agile, PRINCE2 etc.

* Good understanding of the software development lifecycle and methodologies.

* Managing external vendors, both performance and financial.

* Experience of project scoping, business requirements and the project initiation process.
