Are you passionate about making a positive difference to the lives of children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)? We are looking for a committed, detail-oriented individual to join our clients team as a Transport Assessor.

In this rewarding role, you will assess the transport needs of children and young people to ensure they receive safe, appropriate, and suitable arrangements for home-to-school transport. You will complete individual risk assessments, review existing assessments when needs change, and help shape transport solutions that support children with SEND to access education safely and effectively.

  • Assess individual transport requirements for children and young people with SEND.
  • Complete and update assessments, ensuring all information is accurate and up to date.
  • Review existing assessments in response to changes in needs, behaviours, or circumstances.
  • Work closely with colleagues, parents/carers, schools, and external professionals to problem-solve and ensure safe and suitable outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate records using Microsoft Office and database systems.
  • Provide calm, professional, and empathetic communication to members of the public.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience gathering and interpreting information from multiple sources to produce clear written reports.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work accurately with sensitive information.
  • Strong IT skills, including confidence using Word, Excel, Outlook, and databases.
  • Excellent communication skills, with a calm and empathetic approach when supporting parents and carers.
  • Experience delivering a service to individuals or groups, or working with people who require additional support.
  • Knowledge and understanding of SEND and the challenges faced by children and families.

Why Join Us?

  • Make a meaningful difference to children and young people with SEND.
  • Work within a supportive and dedicated team.
  • Develop your assessment, communication, and decision-making skills.
