CNC Milling Machinist - Setter/Operator

The X-Cel Group, consisting of X-Cel Superturn and Vector X-Cel and Colson X-Cel are manufacturers of high specification component parts and assemblies, with HQ based in the national hub of engineering expertise - the Advanced Manufacturing Park (AMP) S60 5FS and at Bessemer Way, S60 1FB, close to M1 J33/34.

We're experiencing a period of growth and are pleased to release brand new opportunities to join the team at either X-Cel Superturn or Vector X-Cel.

(vacancies for small to medium, and medium to large component milling machinists are available)

CNC Milling Machinist - required to effectively program, set and operate the 5-axis machine to produce orders on time and to the required high quality standards. This role would suit a qualified engineer looking to develop and progress.

Duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

- Machining exotic materials e.g. 625,718, using FANUC/Siemens/Heidenhain control systems

- Able to understand complex engineering drawings

- Able to set or modify existing programs

- Use measuring equipment

- Implement minor and suggest major tooling changes

- Suggest process improvements to the engineering department

- Assist and instruct others

- Loading varying size components into the machines competently

- Monitoring long cycle times

Our successful candidate:

- Competent machinist, with experience from a similar role

- NVQ 3 or equivalent in Engineering preferred

- Strong work ethic

- Willingness and ability to follow management directions to achieve results

- Excellent timekeeping & communication skills

*Days or Dual shift patterns available*

Core day shift hours - Mon-Thurs 07:00-16:00, Friday 07:00-12:00 (39hrs)

PM shift hours - Mon-Thurs 16:00-02:30 (40hrs)

Pay rate up to £17.18phr (dependent on skillset) plus x1.5 shift allowance.

Plus overtime, plus profit share, paid weekly.
