An exciting opportunity has arisen for an immediately availableFinancial Controller to join a dynamic and growing group headquartered in Watford. In this pivotal role, you will take full ownership of financial reporting, controls, and processes across multiple entities, playing a key role in supporting the Group CFO and engaging with senior stakeholders across international operations.

This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong expertise in financial governance under UK GAAP, tax strategy, forecasting, and commercial performance management. You’ll be instrumental in driving system improvements and supporting strategic decision-making across the business.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Control

  • Deliver accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements in compliance with UK GAAP

  • Maintain robust accounting processes, reconciliations, and audit readiness across the Group

  • Manage group-wide financial close processes and reporting timelines

  • Partner with the Group Financial Controller and auditors to ensure smooth audit completion

Tax & Transfer Pricing

  • Oversee tax compliance and contribute to effective tax planning strategies across jurisdictions

  • Ensure adherence to transfer pricing requirements and maintain relevant documentation and models

  • Manage VAT submissions across multiple regions

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Support annual budgets and long-term forecasts, working with the CFO and wider finance team

  • Align KPIs, cost centres, and financial planning across business units

Performance Management

  • Deliver timely, insightful management accounts and variance analysis

  • Monitor working capital, inventory, and financial performance across subsidiaries

  • Highlight risks and opportunities, providing commercial analysis to aid strategic planning

Process Improvement & Systems

  • Drive improvements in financial operations, internal controls, and reporting processes

  • Lead ERP implementation and optimisation projects to enhance scalability and efficiency

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead and mentor a dispersed team of finance professionals across various group locations

  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and cross-functional collaboration

  • Support succession planning and professional development across the team

Candidate Profile

Qualifications & Experience

  • ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified

  • 5+ years in a senior finance leadership role, ideally within a multi-entity, international business

  • Strong technical grounding in UK GAAP

  • Experience with tax and transfer pricing compliance

  • Demonstrated ability to drive improvements in reporting, forecasting, and business performance

  • Comfortable in an SME environment with a hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves approach
