We are seeking a dedicated Trainer in Electrical to join our team great team within an education establishment. This role is crucial in managing and enhancing the apprenticeship experience, providing both apprentices and employers with exceptional support throughout our Electrical Apprenticeship Programme

Electrical Trainer Assessor

  • Type: Fixed Term until 31/08/2026
  • Salary:£21,981.89 - £23,665.74 (£36,148 - £38,917 FTE)
  • Location: Berkshire
  • Hours: Part-time, 22.5 hours per week (Monday to Wednesday, 8:00am to 4:00pm)

Day-to-Day Responsibilities of an Electrical Trainer Assessor

  • Manage a caseload of apprentices, conducting visits and formative assessments either in the workplace or remotely to ensure progress towards successful completion.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and assessment with constructive feedback to help apprentices achieve their end point assessment (EPA) Gateway.
  • Offer ongoing support to apprentices and their employers, maintaining regular contact and ensuring full engagement throughout the apprenticeship.
  • Conduct progress reviews every 10-12 weeks with apprentices and their line managers to discuss progress, provide feedback, and ensure readiness for Gateway.
  • Carry out initial assessments with apprentices to establish appropriate pathways and timelines for the programme.
  • Support stakeholders and employers in understanding their responsibilities regarding on-the-job and off-the-job training.
  • Utilize tools like Microsoft Teams and e-portfolios for effective communication and remote assessment.
  • Monitor and track apprentices' off-the-job training hours to meet audit requirements and liaise with the apprenticeship central team.

Required Skills & Qualifications required for the role if an Electrical Assessor Trainer:

  • Level 2 English and Maths.
  • Degree or vocational qualification in a relevant field (18th Edition & AM2/AM2S preferred).
  • Recognised Assessor award A1 or equivalent.
  • Proven experience working with apprentices, employers, or in an apprenticeship-based office.
  • Experience with awarding bodies, EPAOs, and curriculum teams.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
