Head of FP&A

• 6 month contract role with possibility of extension
• £400-£500 per day or £75K on FTC

A reputable charity is looking for an experienced Head of FP&A on a contract basis to support its expanding finance function. This is a newly created role, providing the opportunity to make a real impact on financial strategy and planning.

About the Role

As Head of FP&A, you will be responsible for delivering strategic financial oversight across budgeting, forecasting, and reporting. You will work closely with senior management to inform decision-making and ensure the finance function supports organisational goals effectively.

This is a flexible role requiring 1-2 days a week in the London office, ideal for experienced finance professionals looking for a high-impact contract opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the organisation's financial strategy and contribute to long-term planning
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, and internal reporting processes
• Provide accurate, insightful analysis and proposals to senior management to support decision-making
• Lead, develop, and mentor the FP&A team to ensure a high standard of service
• Implement and maintain robust processes and controls to ensure efficient, fit-for-purpose reporting
• Work across the organisation to strengthen financial capability and understanding

Person Specification

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA)
• Significant FP&A experience, including budgeting, financial management, and reporting
• Proven experience managing staff and leading a small finance team
• Strong communicator, able to work with senior stakeholders across the organisation
• Experience in the charitable sector is preferred, but commercial experience will also be considered
