This position is part of a high-profile government programme focused on ensuring the safety, compliance, and certification of vehicles equipped with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and Automated Driving Systems (ADS).
As the Lead Simulation Engineer, you will be responsible for establishing and leading a new team dedicated to enhancing the organisation’s capabilities in vehicle dynamics modelling and simulation. Your work will directly contribute to the advancement of type approval processes that rely on simulated evidence to demonstrate compliance with UNECE regulations.
This is a unique opportunity to influence the future of vehicle certification by driving innovation in simulation, modelling, and data validation within a growing technical environment.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and develop a specialist team focused on vehicle dynamics modelling and simulation for ADAS and ADS applications.
- Design, implement, and assess simulation models to evaluate vehicle performance using industry-recognised tools and methodologies.
- Validate simulation outputs against experimental or test data to ensure model accuracy and reliability.
- Support the integration of simulated evidence into type approval and compliance frameworks.
- Collaborate with technical experts and external partners to align simulation methods with regulatory and industry standards.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring, helping to build modelling and simulation capability within the wider engineering team.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of tools, processes, and frameworks to strengthen simulation capabilities across the organisation.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, enhancing efficiency, precision, and innovation in simulation workflows.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation and records in line with quality and regulatory requirements.
Essential Skills and Experience- Proven experience using industry-recognised simulation software to assess vehicle dynamic performance, particularly for ADAS / ADS systems.
- Demonstrable expertise in developing and validating simulation models using experimental or test data.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle dynamics, control systems, and automotive engineering principles.
- Skilled in data analysis and converting complex insights into practical engineering decisions.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and methodical approach.
