The Valve Technician is a key hands-on technical resource for delivering high-quality support to our customers in the field, ensuring the optimal performance of our valves. This position is responsible for the installation supervision, commissioning assistance, troubleshooting, repair, inspection, and training related to our range of valves, including control valves. The Valve Technician represents the company on-site, resolves issues, supports warranty evaluations, and maintains a high standard of service and professionalism. This role bridges the gap between product design and real-world application, supporting customer satisfaction, product reliability, and safety. The Valve Technician will also support the Distributor network with regards to training of the product on site and at the Distributors works.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Mechanical Engineering Diploma / Degree or equivalent
- Training qualification/certification (e.g., Train the Trainer) or equivalent experience (preferred)
- Valid Drivers license
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 5 years of valve technician experience in valves, instrumentation, or similar equipment
- Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with valves, control valves, and actuators
- Experience with site commissioning and start-up activities for valves
- Proficient in troubleshooting and diagnostics of valve-related issues
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, datasheets, and P&IDs
- Experience with warranty claim evaluation and documentation
- Capable of performing calibration, adjustments, and preventive maintenance on valves
- Skilled in producing clear and detailed service and inspection reports
- Comfortable delivering on-site technical training to customers on valves
- Willingness and ability to travel to customer sites, including internationally if required
- Understanding of quality management systems and root cause analysis
- Inventory management skills to ensure availability of critical parts and tools for field service
- Software Proficiency - Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project)
- Understanding of the OSH Act and how to conduct oneself on site safely
- Experience in developing and delivering technical training programs (preferred)
