Supervise, direct and coordinate the activities and budget of hourly and salaried employees in multiple departments and/or multiple shifts. Alternatively, supervise multiple shifts/departments of a highly technical nature.
Meet set goals in areas such as Line of Balance Requirements, cost goals on labor, efficiency, quality (including scrap and re-work), overtime and overhead expenses, housekeeping and employee turnover.
Maintain a safe working environment and meet established procedures and practices for MSDS, Lock Out/Tag Out, and Safety Committee.
Observe the highest ethical standards as outlined in “integrity in Manufacturing”, the Hitchiner Code of Conduct and ensure that all department activities and operations are performed in compliance with it.
Interview and select employees to be hired.
Ensure proper training and disciplines are maintained.
Complete employee performance reviews on schedule.
Recommend termination and disciplinary action.
Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
Maintain accurate reports on all labor vouchers, scrap logs and process sheets.
Ensure effective maintenance of departmental facilities and equipment, including preventive maintenance programs.
Ensure all handling of hazardous materials meet regulatory requirements and attend regulatory training as required.
Request and/or recommend equipment or layout changes, production methods, and changes in MTM standards
Initiate and/or recommend purchase of new or replacement of capital equipment.
Responsible for review of subordinates' performance and recommending wage improvements within budget.
Perform other duties as assigned.
