Machine Operator - Manufacturing
Location: Wigan, Greater Manchester
Pay Rate: £13.50 - £14.00 per hour
Shift Pattern: Rotating shifts (06:00-14:00 / 14:00-22:00)

Proactive Personnel are recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing company in Wigan. We are currently looking for experienced Machine Operators to work on rotating shifts in a fast-paced production environment.

Machine Operator - Job Description

As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining manufacturing machinery while ensuring production targets, quality standards, and safety requirements are met.

Key Responsibilities

* Operating manufacturing and production machinery

* Machine setting and adjustments (desirable)

* Following the daily and weekly production plan

* Using production PC systems to record:

* Production data

* Downtime and faults

* Quality checks and inspections

* Product specifications

* Operating and navigating machine HMIs (Human Machine Interfaces)

* Working with automated machinery and production lines

* Completing AM and PM checks and maintenance schedules

* Maintaining housekeeping standards in line with 5S principles

* Identifying quality issues, faults, and inefficiencies

Skills and Experience Required

* Previous experience as a Machine Operator in a manufacturing or production environment

* Experience with machine setting or changeovers is advantageous

* Strong computer skills and experience using production-based systems

* Confident using HMIs and automated equipment

* Understanding of quality standards, specifications, and inspections

* Knowledge of AM/PM routines and 5S manufacturing practices

* Ability to work rotating shifts
