Level 3 Teaching Assistant (Year 6) - Full Time

Mainstream Primary School - S9 Area, Sheffield

Monday to Friday | 8:30am - 3:30pm

Pay: £90 - £120 per day (depending on experience)

Start Date: 3rd September 2025

Contract: Long-term, full-time for the entire academic year - until July 2026

This role is also suitable for Early Career Teachers (ECTs) looking to gain valuable classroom experience in Upper Key Stage 2.

About the Role:

As a Year 6 Teaching Assistant, you will:

- Provide targeted support to pupils in preparation for SATs

- Assist the class teacher with planning and delivering engaging lessons

- Support pupils with varying needs, including those with SEND

- Deliver small group interventions in literacy and numeracy

- Help manage classroom behaviour and promote a positive learning environment

- Support with marking, displays, and general classroom organisation

- Experienced in Upper Key Stage 2, particularly Year 6

- Able to build strong relationships with pupils and staff

- Confident in supporting learning across the curriculum

- Skilled in managing behaviour positively and effectively

- Proactive, flexible, and a strong team player

Requirements:

- Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)

- Proven experience in a UK primary school setting

- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
