MC Technical Recruitment is currently seeking an Operations Technician to join the process team of a well-established Energy from Waste facility in the Kent area. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a cutting-edge power generation environment, contributing to the safe, efficient operation of a modern EfW plant.

As the Operations Technician, you will be responsible for:

Operating the plant via a Distributed Control System (DCS) to ensure optimal performance
Supporting safe daily operations and coordinating activities across maintenance and operational teams
Managing and ensuring compliance with site health, safety, and environmental policies
Administering safe systems of work and supporting permit-to-work processes
Monitoring plant conditions and responding to alarms and system changes
Conducting operational checks, site inspections, and contributing to continuous improvement activities
Assisting in plant start-ups, shutdowns, and emergency response
Acting as a Fire Marshal and First Aider where required
Supporting contractors and facilitating coordination with cleaning and I/O teams
Other duties as required

To be considered for this role, you should have:

Experience in a similar role within Power Generation, Energy from Waste, or heavy process industries (e.g. Refinery, Cement, Paper, etc.)
Familiarity with DCS operations and safe systems of work
Strong understanding of plant processes, health & safety regulations, and environmental compliance
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a high-pressure environment
Excellent communication and coordination skills
