About the Role

Fantastic opportunity for an Electrical Engineer to work on metering systems in substations and power stations across the UK.

Following initial training in Southampton, the role will be predominantly field based.

Key Responsibilities

• Commission, test, and maintain metering equipment to recognised standards
• Perform fault investigations, rectification, and accuracy checks
• Work from electrical and schematic drawings
• Travel nationwide (Mon–Fri, occasional weekends)

Requirements

• 3+ years’ experience in power stations, substations, or 3-phase high-voltage environments
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings
• Knowledge of 3-phase systems and secondary injection kits
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
• Self-motivated with strong problem-solving skills

Preferred Certifications (Valid & In-Date)

Onshore: CCNSG Safety Passport, Emergency First Aid, National Grid Person, UKPN – BESC

Offshore: ENG1 Medical, Chester Step Test, GWO (Sea Survival, First Aid, Working at Height, Fire Awareness, Manual Handling), HUET with CA-EBS

Desirable

• National Grid / Competent Person
• BESC, Safety Passport, Working at Height, First Aid
• ONC/BTEC or equivalent in Electrical Engineering
