The SEMH Teaching Assistant:
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant in this position, you will be working closely with a number of pupils who have complex SEMH needs and SEN. It is important you have a solid understanding of the additional needs of the pupils, as you will be required to build strong relationships with them to better increase their engagement in their education and pastoral wellbeing support. You do not need a Level 3 SEMH Teaching Assistant Qualification for this role, however experience working with SEMH needs is essential.
The SEMH Teaching Assistant Role:
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will be supporting teaching staff with delivering fun and creative lessons to help pupils engage with their subjects. You will be providing academic and pastoral support to pupils either on a 1:1 basis or in small groups. As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the pastoral team to provide effective interventions where pupils require additional support.
The School:
The school received a 'Requires Improvement' score from Ofsted, however it has predominately 'Good' qualities, including leadership and management, personal development, and behaviour and attitudes. You will have access to excellent training and CPD to further your professional development.
