This position will provide direction and control of all aspects associated with the reliability of the operational plant. The role holder will play an active part in the development and implementation of modern maintenance techniques associated with, predictive-condition-based, preventive and corrective maintenance requirements to support the sites reliability KPIs through various means of condition monitoring. The role is in line with business requirements to achieve monitor and improve equipment functionality with regard to operation and plant efficiency including the site infrastructure with a focus on plant performance, energy reduction and sustainability to maintain the maximum level of availability and reliability of the plant at the lowest cost-effective level.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement modern maintenance techniques to support reliability KPIs
  • Collaborate with engineering and operational teams to deliver quality maintenance
  • Identify, plan, evaluate, and support training requirements for modern maintenance techniques
  • Gather equipment reliability data using condition-based monitoring techniques such as visual inspections, vibration and thermographic analysis
  • Support predictive measurement analyses and help with decision-making based on reliability data
  • Analyse data from condition-based maintenance techniques and advise on remediation requirements
  • Implement and support a Reliability Centered Maintenance system
  • Improve predictive and preventive maintenance plans
  • Supervise contractors associated with reliability services
  • Monitor processes that have the potential to impact equipment reliability
  • Ensure equipment is operating safely and within design criteria
  • Comply with statutory legislation and company policies and procedures
  • Implement methods to increase reliability, availability, and maintainability of equipment
  • Deliver investment and improvement projects to increase plant efficiency and reduce energy consumption

Data Management and Analysis:

  • Conduct design reviews for MTBF and maintainability determination
  • Prepare and update PPM for maintenance personnel and process operatives
  • Identify "bad actors" using CMMS software and propose improvements/investments
  • Improve repair procedures and SOPs
  • Conduct Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and FEMA's
  • Create and update a formal Critical Condition Levels system for major equipment
  • Improve preventive maintenance plans and spare parts management
  • Update technical files including documents and drawing procedures

Education/Qualifications

  • Computer literate
  • Time served apprentice or NVQ maintenance engineering or at least 5 years' experience in a maintenance engineering-based role
  • HNC in Engineering Field - Minimum
  • A Sound Understanding of RCM
  • Vibration Analysis Level 1 - 2 (Desirable)
  • Thermographic Analysis Level 1 - 2 (Desirable)
