We are sourcing a dedicated Primary School Administrator with experience in school management systems SIMS to be the first point of contact for this school community. The successful candidate will be adept at handling a wide range of administrative tasks, from managing attendance and pupil data to supporting staff and engaging with parents.

Day to Day of the Role:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for parents and visitors, handling enquiries via telephone, email, and in person with professionalism.
  • Utilise SIMS for various tasks including attendance tracking, markbooks, report generation, and communication via InTouch (SMS).
  • Monitor attendance and generate reports for the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and Attendance and Welfare Advisor, particularly for Children in Need and Child Protection cases.
  • Participate in attendance meetings with the Headteacher, Attendance and Welfare Advisor and parents.
  • Assist SLT and teachers with the entry and processing of assessment data and reporting of pupil data using SIMS.
  • Ensure accurate and timely uploads of termly pupil census data to Collect/DfE.
  • Collaborate with the Headteacher to create and publish the weekly school newsletter.
  • Liaise with website support to ensure all online content is accurate and up to date.
  • Manage school photography and coordinate with third-party photographers.
  • Operate various school systems such as Paxton Net2, CCTV, InVentry, Pay360, Wisepay, School Gateway, and SIMS Parent app.
  • Oversee the generation and distribution of staff credentials and ID badges.
  • Organise out-of-hours clubs using SIMS Parent app and Pay360/School Gateway.
  • Liaising with the catering manager to ensure effective lunch administration and collaborate on the development and publication of termly lunch and after-school club menus.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a school administrator, particularly with SIMS and related management information systems.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work with children and cover various roles within the school as needed.
  • Proficiency in IT and various school systems, including SIMS Discover and SIMS Connected.
  • Experience with school attendance and welfare procedures.
  • Ability to manage social media content and school website updates.
  • Experience in coordinating school events and photography.
  • A collaborative spirit and the ability to work closely with the SLT, staff, and external partners.
