Multisite Recruitment and Payroll Officer

  • Location: Multiple sites (within 5 miles of Reading)
  • Job Type: Full-time

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Multisite Recruitment and Payroll Officer to support the Multisite HR Manager in delivering high-quality HR services across several schools. This role ensures compliance with policies, procedures, and legislation, focusing on recruitment, payroll, and general HR administration.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Compile and update recruitment materials, ensuring adherence to equality, diversity, and inclusion principles.
  • Manage the in-house recruitment portal and post vacancies on various platforms such as Eteach, Indeed, TES, Gov.uk, LinkedIn, and others.
  • Liaise with applicants, prepare shortlisting grids, support interview panels, and send new starter documentation.
  • Conduct pre-employment vetting checks including references and DBS.
  • Manage training portal and health management system setups for new starters.
  • Process payroll, ensuring accurate data input and compliance with statutory and contractual requirements.
  • Handle monthly payroll changes, input adjustments, and liaise with payroll providers to ensure accuracy.
  • Respond to routine payroll and pension queries from staff.
  • Maintain accurate HR and payroll records, manage data within the HR system, and ensure compliance with Data Retention Policy.
  • Participate in HR project work and undertake additional duties as required.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Qualified to at least Level 2 in English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above.
  • CIPD Level 3/5 qualification.
  • Demonstrable experience in recruitment and familiarity with various recruitment platforms.
  • Good knowledge of relevant employment law.
  • Experience with HR information systems.
  • Access to a vehicle and willingness to travel between schools as needed.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Google suite applications.
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to work collaboratively, and maintain confidentiality.
