Description

Key responsibilities of the Assistant Management Accountant include:

• Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and commentary.
• Support the budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts to ensure financial integrity.
• Provide financial reports and analysis to support decision-making within the Accounting & Finance department.
• Assist with the preparation of VAT returns and compliance with relevant regulations.
• Collaborate with various teams to improve financial processes and controls.
• Support the year-end audit process by preparing schedules and liaising with auditors.
• Contribute to ad-hoc financial projects as required by senior management.

Profile

A successful Assistant Management Accountant should have:

• A recognised qualification or part-qualification in accounting (e.g., AAT, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
• Previous experience in a similar role within the Accounting & Finance sector.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data effectively.
• Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
• The ability to work well under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills to liaise with stakeholders across the organisation.
