We are currently seeking patient, reliable, and compassionate individuals based in or around Bracknell who are interested in supporting young people in a role that goes beyond traditional teaching.

Most of our referrals involve children with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs or other complex challenges.

Many of the young people we support:

May currently be out of education or attending on a reduced timetable

Require structured, calm, and consistent support to rebuild confidence

Availability

To ensure continuity for our students, we ask Teaching Assistants to commit to:

Why This Work Is Important

Success in this role isn't always measured by grades alone.

Sometimes progress means:

A student attending and engaging calmly

Completing work they once refused to attempt

Rebuilding trust with a supportive adult

Experience working with young people in schools, youth work, care, mentoring, or support roles can be helpful but is not essential.

Pay

£17-£20 per hour, depending on experience.

Can work independently and maintain clear communication

*

Are organised and able to keep simple records and updates

These updates help ensure that students receive the right level of support and educational planning.

Experience and Skills

Previous tutoring or teaching experience is not required.

We welcome applications from individuals who:

Feel comfortable working with SEN or SEMH students

Have a patient, calm, and supportive approach

Are reliable and able to build positive relationships with young people

Consistency is extremely important in this role, as many of our learners benefit greatly from predictable routines and stable support.

Responsibilities

Alongside supporting students with their learning, tutors are expected to:

Maintain accurate attendance records

Track and report student progress and engagement

Provide clear updates that can be shared with schools and partner professionals

Follow safeguarding procedures and documentation standards

Availability

A minimum of 10-15 hours per week

Core hours between 8:30am and 3:30pm

Availability Monday to Friday
