Belmont Recruitment are currently looking for an experienced Safe Accommodation Housing Support Worker to join Calderdale Council on an initial 3 month temporary contract.

The role involves providing intensive, person-centred support to individuals in safe accommodation, ensuring their wellbeing and helping them to move towards independent living. You will work closely with partner agencies and act as a keyworker for a small caseload, focusing on holistic support and safeguarding.

Key Responsibilities

*

Act as a keyworker for clients in safe accommodation, providing practical and emotional support.

*

Complete comprehensive risk and safety assessments, including DASH risk assessments, in line with safeguarding policies.

*

Develop and implement support plans using a strengths-based approach, ensuring clients access appropriate services.

*

Advise and assist clients with welfare benefits, health services, and other entitlements, attending appointments where needed.

*

Ensure residents comply with licence agreements and take appropriate action in the event of breaches.

*

Support clients to secure settled accommodation and sustain tenancies.

*

Attend MARAC and multi-agency meetings, acting as lead professional when required.

*

Maintain accurate case records (both written and electronic).

*

Develop and deliver therapeutic activities aimed at improving emotional wellbeing and confidence.

What We're Looking For

*

Previous experience supporting adults and families affected by domestic abuse.

*

Knowledge of safeguarding, risk assessment, and trauma-informed approaches.

*

Experience in housing support or homelessness services.

*

Ability to work independently and manage a small caseload effectively.

*

Strong organisational and interpersonal skills.

*

Knowledge of welfare benefits and tenancy sustainment.

*

Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (or ability to meet mobility requirements).
