Overview
We are looking for a CNC Programmer / Setter / Operatorto join our Engineering Workshop in Essex. The role involves setting, programming and operating CNC machining centres to produce small batch precision components in line with engineering specifications.

Key Responsibilities

*

Set, program and operate CNC machining centres

*

Machine small batch precision components from a variety of metals and plastics

*

Work with HAAS and Heidenhain controls

*

Produce components using existing programs, tooling and fixtures

*

Program new components from scratch using online programming

*

Carry out first-off checks and in-process inspection to ensure quality standards

*

Select appropriate tooling for machining operations

*

Work with the inspection team to ensure components meet required specifications

*

Maintain a safe working environment and follow workshop health and safety procedures

Requirements

*

Engineering apprenticeship or relevant mechanical/engineering background

*

Experience setting and operating CNC machines

*

Experience with HAAS or Heidenhain controls

*

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings

*

Strong attention to detail and ability to produce precision components

Desirable

*

Offline programming experience

*

Exposure to CAD/CAM software

*

Familiarity with Autodesk Inventor or Fusion 360
