Strategy Lead - Commercial & Specialty Insurance - 8-week contract - £775 per day (Inside IR35 Umbrella) - London / Hybrid (3 days a week on site)

This is a rare opportunity for a senior insurance strategist to play a defining role at a leading international specialty broker during a period of ambition, growth, and transformation. We are looking for a commercially minded, high‑credibility strategist with deep insurance domain expertise to help set direction, architect the future operating model, and turn strategic ambition into executable change.

You will operate at the heart of leadership decision‑making — building the strategic narrative, shaping growth priorities, and designing how the organisation competes, operates, and scales in an increasingly complex specialty insurance landscape.

As Strategy Lead, Commercial & Specialty Insurance, you will act as a senior strategist with deep insurance expertise, helping to shape strategy for a leading international specialty broker.

Key experience:

* Insurance domain expertise, with deep experience across specialty broking and the London market

* A proven track record in growth strategy, operating model design, and transformation

* The credibility and confidence to work at senior executive level

* You will help define the firm's strategic ambition, market positioning, and optimal business mix, bringing clarity to where to play, how to win, and how to scale.

A demonstrable background in Commerical / Specialty insurance strategy, including:

* Open market, facilities/binders, and MGA models

* International expansion and geographic prioritisation

* Broker economics and specialty classes

* Talent‑led growth strategies

You will also be comfortable tackling the more complex enablers of growth:

* Platform integration

* Process redesign

* Technology, data, and AI enablement

Crucially, you will be able to translate sophisticated analysis into a clear leadership narrative and a practical, phased roadmap that balances ambition with execution reality.

In this role, you will:

* Shape strategic direction, growth ambition, and the future operating model

* Assess priorities across geography, capabilities, distribution, and platform build

* Support the development of a high‑level strategic narrative for leadership

* Build a robust fact base and strategic rationale, including financial analysis and scenario thinking

* Identify early wins and sequence change into manageable phases

* Ensure all recommendations are grounded in execution reality and organisational capacity

You will be:

* A strong communicator with credibility at senior executive level

* Pragmatic, commercially minded, and comfortable working at pace in an ambiguous environment

* Experienced in translating strategy into actionable outcomes

* Ideally bringing experience in specialty classes, broker economics, and talent‑led growth strategies
