About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Person to join our client, covering a range of properties including houses, flats, and care homes across Worcester and surrounding areas.
This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone with experience in property maintenance and a broad skill set including fire door maintenance, painting & decorating, basic plumbing, and PAT testing. You will be provided with a company vehicle for travel between sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out general maintenance and repair tasks across residential and care home properties.
- Inspect, adjust, and maintain fire doors to meet fire safety standards (BS 8214:2016).
- Perform painting and decorating, including surface preparation and finishing.
- Undertake basic plumbing repairs (e.g., leaks, tap replacements, unblocking drains).
- Conduct Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) (if certified) to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Identify and report major repair needs or hazards.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed.
- Ensure health & safety compliance at all times, especially in care environments.
Requirements (Experience & Qualifications)
- Proven experience in property or facilities maintenance.
- Knowledge of fire door regulations and safety standards.
- Experience in painting, decorating, and basic plumbing tasks.
- PAT Testing Certification (or willingness to undertake training).
- Valid UK driving licence (essential).
- DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
Desirable (but not essential):
- NVQ/City & Guilds in a relevant trade (e.g., plumbing, carpentry, painting & decorating).
- Fire Door Inspection Scheme (FDIS) certification.
- Asbestos awareness training (UKATA).
- First Aid certification (advantageous).
