My client is an interior fit out specialist who manufactures furniture, fixtures and fittings and fits out commercial spaces throughout the uk. They are currently looking for a experienced Financial Controller to join them on a permanent basis.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Take responsibility for all the accounting operations of the business, and the supervision of all accounting activities and within the Finance Department.
  • Responsible for the production of the Management Quarterly and Year End accounts to provide accurate financial information in order to present the Profit & Loss statement and Balance.
  • Attend Quarterly accounts meetings to discuss management accounts in details, as well as providing comparisons for the period for the previous year.
  • Take responsibility of the accounts and payroll and ensure information is accurately entered and providing support and training where required as well as carrying out both formal and informal monthly appraisals.
  • Build and report on all data needed within the role.
  • Weekly & monthly cash flow reporting, project progression, Work in Progress reports, working closely with the Contracts Manager to ensure all contracts valuations are correctly entered into the WIP and all sales invoicing is submitted within the timeframes stipulated, to ensure all deadlines are met.
  • Ensuring VAT information is accurate for submission including the running and submission of VAT returns each quarter.

Requirements

  • Sage Line 50 accounting package
  • Sage Payroll
  • AAT Foundation Level 2
  • AAT Level 3
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Ability to prepare & set up accurate financial spreadsheets.
