Our client provides reactive and planned maintenance services across various sectors. They offer full maintenance coverage to local authorities, commercial landlords, private businesses, care homes, private properties, and housing associations.

Due to continued success and business growth, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their expanding team.

Job Purpose

The Quantity Surveyor will play a key role within the locally based Head Office, contributing to the successful delivery of all projects. This role involves close collaboration with internal departments, site teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and valued clients. It encompasses procurement, commercial, and contractual responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial & Project Management

* Schedule and quantify materials and labour requirements

* Support internal departments to ensure project viability and cost efficiency

* Maintain compliance with specifications and project programmes, ensuring quality standards

* Manage commercial processes including WIP and cash flow forecasting

* Reconcile and recharge applicable costs

* Calculate and monitor prime costs for developments

* Prepare and maintain project budgets, tracking and reporting cost movements

* Forecast final accounts and cost-to-complete reports

* Conduct CVRs and present at monthly finance meetings

* Manage contractor, subcontractor, and consultant orders and payments

* Review third-party project variations and obtain necessary approvals

Financial & Administrative

* Process applications, valuations, and payments

* Monitor and report on all cost changes in project valuations

* Ensure development budgets are maintained and updated

* Attend and contribute to internal project meetings

* Input and maintain project data in relevant systems

* Provide regular updates to the Managing Director and Business Management Team

Site & Team Collaboration

* Attend pre-start, pre-tender, and specification meetings

* Visit sites regularly to carry out commercial functions

* Liaise with site teams and supply chain to ensure alignment

Experience & Requirements

* Solid understanding of Building Regulations and Health & Safety standards

* Relevant industry qualification (e.g., Degree or HNC in Quantity Surveying or Construction-related field)

* Proven experience managing internal and external stakeholders

* Strong commercial and contractual awareness

* Highly proficient in IT systems and software used in construction and project management
