Daytona Tortugas- Food & Beverage Manager

 

The Daytona Tortugas are currently seeking a Food & Beverage Manager. The Tortugas take pride in being a leader of attendance in the Florida State League and locally being a strong community stalwart. The Tortugas are located in Downtown Daytona Beach, FL and play host to the High-A affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds. The ideal candidate is someone with the ability to execute and manage our food service operation.

 

The Tortugas are one of the fastest growing teams in minor league baseball and have been recognized both regionally and nationally for innovative promotions and top-class service. Locally, the Tortugas been recognized as one of the best places to work and constantly receiving recognition for the various upgrades and community initiatives instilled here within Central Florida.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Oversee the day-to-day food and beverage operation at Jackie Robinson Ballpark to operate within budget guidelines and to the highest standards.

  • Oversee team’s purchasing program and maintain standard inventory levels. Understand the flow of events held at Jackie Robinson Ballpark.

  • Handle scheduling for all Tortugas related events within the food and beverage department- including offseason hospitality events.

  • Work closely with our community relations team and personally work to develop new relationships and events for our team’s food truck (Shell’s Kitchen) to attend.

  • Build unique, creative and fun menus that are tailored to each of our neighborhoods within the ballpark that stay true to our brand.

  • Establish and maintain clear and consistent communication to all supervisors.

  • Build positive relationships within each of our food and beverage teams and report well to management.

  • Provide all financial information including payroll, accounts payable and nightly reports to team Controller.

  • Receive all orders for food, beer and alcohol at Jackie Robinson Ballpark.

  • Continue to build an ownership environment with emphasis on motivation, teamwork and commitment to excellence.

  • Maintain a clean and efficient facility at Jackie Robinson Ballpark that meets the e needs to all health safety requirements.

  • Work to optimize existing internal processes, identify operational weaknesses and develop new, innovative systems to constantly drive growth and efficiency.

  • Oversee the hiring and training of all game-day staff.

  • Ability to be a member of one of the best front offices in minor league baseball. We strive to make a difference day in and day out! Have the opportunity to work at one of the most historic places in baseball that will give you chills every day… even in Florida!

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required and preferred to have 2-5 years experience in the food and beverage, hospitality industry. Previous sports and entertainment experience is strongly preferred.

  • Passionate, hard-working and someone that wants to develop a strong food and beverage team.

  • ServSafe Manager certified.

  • This position requires someone to work long hours at certain periods over the year which includes weekends, holidays. Must work well in a fast- paced environment.

 

COMPENSATION

  • Competitive salary based on experience. Includes health, vision and dental benefits. Paid vacation and a flexible holiday schedule during off-season months. Opportunity to participate in team’s 401K.
