Role Overview

We are looking for a caring and reliable Housekeeping and Laundry Assistant to join our care home team in Stockport on a temporary basis. You will play a vital role in creating a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for our residents, supporting their dignity and wellbeing through high standards of housekeeping and laundry services.

Key Responsibilities

* Carry out daily cleaning of residents' rooms, bathrooms, and communal areas to maintain a hygienic and homely environment.

* Manage laundry tasks, including collecting, washing, drying, ironing, and returning residents' personal clothing and bedding with care and respect.

* Adhere strictly to infection prevention and control procedures.

* Ensure cleaning and laundry supplies are replenished and stored safely.

* Report any maintenance issues or potential hazards promptly.

* Handle residents' belongings with sensitivity and confidentiality.

* Work closely with care staff to support residents' comfort and individual needs.

* Follow all health & safety and safeguarding procedures.

Skills & Experience

* Previous housekeeping or laundry experience in a care or healthcare setting is desirable but not essential - training will be provided.

* Commitment to maintaining high cleanliness and hygiene standards.

* Compassionate, respectful, and able to interact with residents in a kind and supportive manner.

* Good time management and ability to work independently or as part of a team.

* Awareness of infection control and COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) regulations is an advantage.
