About the Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a key role in maintaining continuity of learning when teachers are absent. You'll supervise pre-set lessons, support student engagement, and help uphold a positive, structured learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise Lessons: Manage a classroom and deliver pre-prepared lesson plans in the teacher's absence.

Maintain Behaviour: Uphold school behaviour policies and ensure students remain on task.

Support Learning: Assist students with understanding lesson objectives and ensure tasks are completed.

Monitor Progress: Track student participation and provide feedback to teaching staff on engagement and any issues that arise.

Safeguard Students: Prioritise student welfare and follow safeguarding procedures at all times.

Communicate Effectively: Liaise with teaching and support staff, providing feedback on lessons and student behaviour.

Classroom Preparation: Ensure the classroom is left organised and ready for the next session.

Policy Adherence: Follow all school policies including safeguarding, health & safety, and attendance protocols.

What We're Looking For

Previous experience as a Cover Supervisor in a secondary school setting is essential

A current enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one

Confident and proactive in a classroom environment

Adaptable, reliable, and resilient under pressure

Committed to supporting the education and well-being of young people

A strong communicator and positive role model
