Senior Software Engineer

£60,000 - £78,000k depending on experience

*** Due to the nature of the role and the industry you will be working in, you will be required to achieve UK BPSS & SC Clearance ***

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to perform Independent Verification & Validation (IV&V). You will be responsible for independently reviewing a range of high - integrity software products, across current and future platforms. The role additionally involves providing safety-critical software consultancy and support to other programmes, both within and external to the Air sector. The successful candidate will be expected to work on an individual basis (to maintain their independence) but will interact regularly with the wider team and will therefore need to have good communication and time management skills.

Day to Day you will be -
Independently reviewing a range of software products, across current and future platforms
Producing IV&V plans and monitoring and reporting progress against them
Contributing to the development and improvement of software processes
Providing consultancy and support to other safety-critical software development programmes

Key experience we are looking for -
A degree in a STEM subject or equivalent experience
Proven experience in Software Engineering with embedded systems and an understanding of the Software Engineering Life Cycle
Working knowledge of software engineering related standards, particularly RTCA DO-178C, but also other defence and civil standards
Working knowledge of a high level programming language (Ada or similar) and data flow analysis experience
Understanding of Model Based System Engineering techniques (specifically SysML & SCADE)
