Role Overview

Leicestershire County Council is seeking a qualified and experienced Social Worker to join the Children & Family Services (CFS) First Response Team on a part-time basis. This is a high-impact role working within the front door service, providing rapid response to safeguarding concerns and protecting vulnerable children.

This agency opportunity is ideal for social workers seeking a flexible part-time position while making a real difference to children and families in Leicestershire.

Key Responsibilities

Respond promptly to child protection referrals and safeguarding concerns
Conduct assessments and investigations to determine risk and support needs
Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners to safeguard children
Prepare high-quality reports and documentation for internal review and legal purposes
Provide direct social work interventions, including child and family support plans
Participate in team meetings, case discussions, and supervision to ensure statutory compliance
Maintain accurate and up-to-date case recordsEssential Requirements

Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalent
Minimum 3 years' post-qualifying experience in children's services
Social Work England registration
Strong knowledge of child protection legislation and statutory frameworks
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities
