Job Purpose
The planning and execution of the efficient day-to-day running of our clients AUV Fleet, ensuring strong management of all AUV support, system preparation and project activities. To provide and maintain our clients AUV Fleet in first-class condition and with first-class appearance. And coordinate a team of multi-disciplined personnel in the successful execution of all AUV operations both on and offshore. Meet agreed targets, specifically regarding equipment readiness and availability, against set budgets. As well as implement strategies, policies, and working practices that will maintain and improve standards of service delivery cost-effectively.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
* Work according to defined Company QHS&E Management Systems and be aware of H&S's responsibilities to you and others.
* Manage the day-to-day operations of the AUV fleet effectively and efficiently within the established framework of the Company's policies/procedures and best practice requirements.
* Assist in the management of Vehicle and Mission teams.
* Provision of technical and operational support through continuous development of comprehensive operational procedures and technical support/advice to offshore operations, including participating in offshore projects and training personnel.
* Interfacing with members of the Vehicle and Mission teams, ensuring effective management of processes and non-conformity events.
* Prepare for Project mobilisations, ensuring all equipment is appropriately commissioned and tested in accordance with manufacturer procedures and meets the requirements of regulatory authorities.
* Assist in the development of the AUV Fleet.
* Keeping project/operations management routinely informed of project status and all/any developments that impact schedule, cost, safety, and reputation through regular project reporting, including DPRs.
* To work co-operatively and productively with others to reflect departmental and organisational priorities, ensuring maximum use of project resources, technical integrity, operational efficiency, quality assurance, and safe and successful completion of projects.
* Delivery of project-generated documentation, including project-specific procedures, task plans, project plans and risk assessments.
* Proposing and implementing changes in processes.
* Assist in developing the Competency Framework for the Vehicle and Mission teams.
Requirements for the Role:
The ideal candidate will have worked extensively offshore and have a background in either:
* A Survey Party Chief with a minimum of 5 years supporting ROV-based hydrographic surveys, with strong technical competencies and mobilisation experience.
* Or an ROV Supervisor with a minimum of 5 years supporting ROV-based hydrographic surveys, with strong electrical/electronic competencies and a good understanding of survey systems.
They will also have:
* Practical experience in AUV and ROV operations (deep water ROV operations preferred)
* Strong written and oral communication skills coupled with good interpersonal skills.
* Flexible team player able to supervise personnel.
* Computer literate
* Experience in mechanical, structural, and subsea engineering will be beneficial.
* Demonstrate a strong understanding of the methodologies and equipment associated with the entire Life of Field and ROV-based survey operations and geophysical surveys.
* Strong technical understanding and ability to interface survey sensors to an AUV and/or ROV.
* Required to multi-task, using critical thinking and problem-solving skills, to foresee and react to project developments.
* Required to work harmoniously with clients, contractors and other employees within all Business Lines using the interpersonal skills required of the work setting.
