Job Description
VP of Finance/Controller for Growing Global Investment Firm


The Vice President of Finance/Controller role will support the growth of the organization and the Finance Team. The Finance Team provides the data and analytics essential to driving strategic and tactical decisions, and monitoring market conditions. The Team manages the accounting, forecasting, and reporting on behalf of the firm. The Controller will play an essential role in managing the operations of our Finance Team and will have the opportunity to impact key firm wide strategic and financial objectives. This individual will work closely with internal teams and external providers to ensure the accuracy of firm data and the timely and efficient completion of deliverables. The Controller will report to the Chief Financial Officer and be responsible for the management of Finance Associates. 


Responsibilities:


• Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statement closes, including preparation and review of journal entries and account reconciliations

• Oversee the preparation of consolidated financial statements

• Prepare various management reporting deliverables

• Facilitate and manage the preparation of forecasting templates and management of budget reporting tools

• Engage with external providers and internal teams on deadlines and reporting needs

• Assist with revenue analytics and management reporting

• Drive and manage projects to further improve automation, efficiency, and accuracy

• Assist in data refinement, enhancements, and continuous build-out of robust reporting 

• Oversee accounts payable process, including invoices and employee expense report

• Coordinate periodic tax deliverables, regulatory filings and financial statement audits 

• Oversee the corporate credit card program

• Review semi-monthly payroll for accuracy

• Manage Finance Team systems and lead enhancements, implementations, and training

 

Requirements:

• Have a bachelor's degree with accounting, finance, or similar concentration 

• Minimum of 10 years of work experience in one of the following industries: public accounting, financial reporting, corporate finance, or FP&A

• Have a robust understanding of US GAAP and recent pronouncements

• Have a strong work ethic and ability to work well with other team members 

• Has experience managing and training team members

• Excel in a dynamic and fast-paced environment

• Are highly detail-oriented, accurate, self-motivated, and exhibit sound judgement

• Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Have an analytical mindset, are intellectually curious, and are constantly questioning

• Are discreet in handling sensitive and confidential information 

• Are skilled in Excel and other Microsoft products

• Work well both independently and as part of a team 

  

Ideal but not required:

 

• Have a CPA license 

• Have prior experience with the Sage Intacct, SAP Concur, or Bill.com

• Have prior experience with tax reporting

• Other advanced degrees or designations

 

Salary:

 

• DOE plus bonus and great benefits
