Tripod Partners are recruiting for a Finance Manager to join the London Borough of Bexley. This role focuses on managing capital and fixed asset accounting, preparing statutory returns, and contributing to the medium-term financial strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead on capital and fixed asset accounting in a local authority setting.

Prepare the Statement of Accounts, Group Accounts, and related returns.

*

Ensure timely and accurate capital and revenue accounting entries.

*

Produce high-level capital monitoring reports and support VAT/tax reporting.

*

Develop and maintain the Capital Strategy alongside treasury colleagues.

*

Support budget setting through asset and capital funding projections.

*

Manage reconciliations, asset register, and compliance with audit standards.

*

Supervise a small finance team and liaise with stakeholders and auditors.

Position Details:
Location: London Borough of Bexley (hybrid working likely)
Duration: 3-6 months
Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week
Pay Rate: £633.32 per day
Work Pattern: Monday to Friday
IR35 Status: Inside IR35

Requirements:

Essential: Prior experience leading capital and fixed asset accounting in a local authority.

*

CCAB-qualified accountant (or equivalent).

*

Strong understanding of local government finance, VAT, and statutory codes.

*

Proven experience in preparing year-end accounts.

*

Strong communication and leadership skills.
