RG consultancy are currently recruiting an experienced management accountant for a well-established Engineering company based in Wallasey. The role would report directly to the finance manager and would be perfect for a part/qualified CIMA candidate looking to further their career within a growing SME business.

• Prepare monthly management accounts, including profit & loss, balance sheet, and variance analysis.

• Lead month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.

• Prepare and post accruals, prepayments, and journals.

• Provide detailed financial analysis and commentary to support strategic decision-making.

• Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes.

• Monitor financial performance and identify trends, risks, and opportunities.

• Support internal and external audits by providing relevant documentation and explanations.

• Partner with operational teams to improve cost control and efficiency.

• Drive continuous improvement of financial processes and reporting.

• Part-qualified or qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA).

• Proven experience in a management accounting or similar role.

• Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.

• Advanced Excel skills and experience with accounting systems

• Ability to communicate financial information to non-finance stakeholders.

• Proactive, organised, and able to work to tight deadlines.
