�? Learning Support Assistant – Resource Base for Moderate Learning Difficulties �?

Are you passionate about supporting children with additional learning needs? We are looking for a committed and empathetic Learning Support Assistant to join our specialist resource base, supporting pupils whose academic or personal development is at least five years behind their chronological age.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide tailored one-to-one and small group support to pupils with moderate learning difficulties.
• Assist in the creation and delivery of personalised learning materials and activities.
• Support students in developing essential life skills, social interaction, and emotional regulation.
• Monitor progress and contribute to individual education plans (IEPs).
• Help manage behaviour positively and consistently.
• Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to ensure holistic support.
• Assist with personal care tasks where necessary.
• Promote inclusion and encourage participation in classroom and school activities.

Experience Required:

• Previous experience working with children or young people with special educational needs (SEN), ideally in a school or care setting.
• Understanding of moderate learning difficulties and effective support strategies.
• Ability to build trusting relationships with pupils and maintain a calm, patient approach.
• Strong communication skills to work effectively with staff, parents, and external agencies.
• Experience supporting pupils with delayed academic or emotional development.
• Familiarity with safeguarding and child protection procedures.
