SEMH Teaching Assistant
Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit 2 Specialist SEMH Teaching Assistants to support a Primary/Secondary SEN School. The school caters for pupils with complex SEMH difficulties and ASC; therefore, many children who attend the school display challenging behaviour
Team Teach or MAPA training is desired but not essential.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will be expected to support the children across the curriculum and, with a nurturing approach, cultivate their skills. You must also encourage students, in line with the schools ethos, to help them become more independent and confident.
The successful candidate must be extremely resilient, patient and persistent in order to build good rapport with the children which they are supporting. As many children who attend this school are often disengaged from education, the school has an broad and varied curriculum. Therefore, the successful candidate should be able to cultivate this interest and ensure to remain positive even in difficult situations.
You must own a UK driver's license and your own vehicle
This is a fulltime role from 8.30am - 3.30 pm Monday to Friday.
The role will be supporting very challenging pupils in the classroom and sometimes on a 1:1 basis
Pay for this role is negotiable but will not be less than GBP10 per hour.
