We are delighted to be working with an award-winning, family-owned construction business who are seeking a talented Senior Management Accountant to join their growing finance team. With a proud heritage and a strong reputation built over generations, this business combines tradition with innovation to deliver exceptional results.As Senior Management Accountant, you will play a key role in the smooth running of the finance department, providing accurate and timely reporting to support business decisions. This is a varied, hands-on position where you’ll work closely with project and commercial managers across multiple sites, contributing to both day-to-day operations and long-term growth.Your responsibilities will include:
  • Producing quarterly management accounts and project appraisals with variance analysis.
  • Supervising the output of weekly build and sales reports, ensuring accuracy, providing commentary on movements, and attending review meetings to drive meaningful conversations.
  • Supporting the Head of Finance with consolidated accounts process and forecast/budget preparation
  • Overseeing VAT return preparation, reviewing for accuracy before submission, and supporting pension scheme administration.
  • Working with departmental budget holders to support forecasting, cost control, and improved budgetary awareness.
  • Driving process improvements and supporting data integration as part of upcoming ERP/system changes.
  • Assisting with annual audits and liaising with external auditors.
About You
  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
  • Extensive experience in a similar role, ideally within construction or property.
  • Strong technical knowledge and ability to meet deadlines in a busy environment.
  • Confident working with ERP systems and data integration projects, with the ability to adapt to new technology.
  • Proactive, organised, and detail-oriented with strong communication skills.
