We are seeking a Curriculum Manager for Maths to operationally manage an ambitious curriculum that meets the needs of learners, employers, and other stakeholders in line with our strategic plan. This role involves leading the quality of education and managing the day-to-day operations of the curriculum area, promoting a culture of high-quality learning and managing resources efficiently.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities: - Provide effective line management within the curriculum area, ensuring high standards of teaching, learning, and assessment.
- Develop and manage a dynamic and innovative curriculum that responds to the needs of the stakeholders.
- Lead on quality assurance and improvement activities, implementing necessary interventions to enhance performance.
- Manage the recruitment, induction, appraisal, and development of staff, fostering a team that meets our high standards.
- Coordinate with the Director to maximize funding and manage resources effectively, ensuring value for money.
- Inspire high aspirations and expectations through improved retention, achievement, and progression rates.
- Lead on the implementation of course, room, and staff timetables, ensuring efficient utilization of resources.
- Develop and maintain effective external stakeholder relationships and cross-college partnerships.
- Manage teaching cover arrangements and participate in various college activities to support student engagement and success.
Required Skills & Qualifications: - Relevant teaching qualification or willingness to obtain one within a specified timeframe.
- Minimum of a Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject area, with a degree or equivalent in the subject area being desirable.
- Proven teaching experience in the relevant subject area.
- Experience in applying quality improvement and assurance processes.
- Strong IT skills and the ability to effectively use IT to deliver curriculum components.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to act as a personal tutor and manage a diverse range of students.
