The SENCo of a primary school in Darwen, Lancashire, is looking to recruit and appoint an experienced SEN Support Assistant to work within a class with high levels of SEN. They would like the successful candidate to begin work in the new academic year; however, they would be keen to meet them beforehand in order to ensure effective transition. The position is full-time: 08:45 - 15:15, Monday to Friday (term-time only) and will be temporary with the possibility of a school contract.
Across the school, pupils' behaviour and their attitudes to learning are exemplary. Parents are extremely supportive of the school and are very appreciative of the care taken of their children. To be considered for this role, you must have the following:
- Level 2 qualification in a relevant subject area
- Prior experience of supporting individuals with SEN, ideally gained within a specialist SEN provision
- Strong behaviour management
- Excellent work ethic
