Reed Further Education are seeking an administrative assistant to provide dedicated support to an Additional Support Team at a college based in Bedford. This role involves a high level of administrative tasks, including data entry, communication management, and maintaining filing systems. The ideal candidate will be proactive, highly organised, and committed to delivering exceptional customer service.
Job Title: Additional Support Administrator
Working Hours: 37 hours, Mon-Fri
Role type: Temporary Ongoing until 31st July.
Location: Bedford
Salary: £14p/h to £15p/h including holiday pay
Day-to-day of the role:
- Work effectively as a member of the additional support Team.
- Manage appointment scheduling for staff and student meetings using Outlook calendars and ensure all parties are informed through appropriate communication methods such as letters, emails, and phone calls.
- Send out necessary communications, including transition booklets and introductory letters, using various methods.
- Input and manage student details, support received, and funding details into the college database (Pro Solutions).
- Maintain team spreadsheets with essential student data, such as addresses and support needs.
- Uphold both paper and online filing systems to ensure organisation and accessibility.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for queries related to the services provided by the Additional Support Team, offering advice and information on support options and processes.
- Maintain a high level of customer service, adhering to the college’s standards and processes.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in an administrative role within education or youth work.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications, especially Outlook and Excel.
- Experience with database management, preferably Pro Solutions.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Commitment to promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults.
- Enhanced DBS on update service or willingness to apply for one through Reed.
