The RoleResponsible for the strategic leadership and direction of Northern Powergrid’s financial governance, ensuring robust group-wide consolidation, control frameworks, and high-quality reporting. This role oversees internal, external and shareholder financial reporting, along with financial planning, and treasury stewardship. Acting as the lead in complex accounting matters, guiding the organisation on technical standards, regulatory compliance, and best-practice financial decision-making.The Group Financial Controller will also lead the finance operations agenda, shaping the vision and performance of core transactional management, ensuring  efficiency, resilience, and strong financial discipline.The RequirementsSuitable candidates will be: 
  • Qualified with significant PQE, reflective of a leading and well established Financial Controller.
  • Technically strong, capable of interpreting and applying complex accounting standards.
  • Extensive group reporting experience, likely within a large and complex business environment.
  • Proficient in budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning.
  • An experienced leader of multi-location and multi-discipline finance teams, with a track record of developing talent and influencing senior stakeholders..
